El Ingeniero Hamlet Otáñez al hacer un balance de los resultados del Congreso Elector del PLD recién pasado valoró la amplia participación, la serenidad democrática con que transcurrió el proceso, la agilidad y transparencia del escrutinio y conteo, además el resultado amplio e indiscutido a favor del candidato Leonel Fernández.
El dirigente peledeísta afirmó que nunca en la historia de la democracia dominicana un partido político habia realizado una demostración tan contundente de participación en un proceso interno lo que refleja el grado de identificación de los dominicanos con el PLD y del PLD con los ciudadanos.
Otáñez manifestó “al equipo, a nivel interno, que ganó el Congreso Elector le corresponde ser el que más una, el que más aliente la unidad de toda la familia peledeísta y el que formalmente disponga puentes que faciliten y aceleren el necesario proceso de reunificación y entendimiento que permitan que salgamos unidos rumbo a la campaña electoral para las elecciones de mayo del 2008”.
Hamlet Otáñez produjo estas declaraciones luego de concluir su trabajo como delegado técnico de la precadidatura del Dr Leonel Fernández ante la Comisión Nacional de Electoral en la Casa Nacional del PLD en Santo Domingo.
